Steam Winter Sale

The Steam Winter Sale (2018) is on right now, and I checked over my wish for some savings. It almost looks like my want list from the Summer Sale this year. It would seem that the 3 games I wanted during it and put off getting, are still on my wish list now.

I have not picked up any of these games since that sale, and am still thinking about pick up the Battle Chasers: Nightwar on this sale. I always feel the need to want a classic RPG style game, the cut scenes in this one look amazing!

From my Summer Sale post, it would also seem I was only able to complete one game off the “Want To Complete List”.

I am not sure I will ever complete Doom. It looks like a great game, but after the original Quake Arena and UT games I have never been a huge fan of FPS games. I like the idea and some of the orig FPS games hold a very special place in history for me.

I need to stop thinking I will enjoy the new style FPS games as much as the classics.

Kings Quest

Kings Quest is a game I really do want to play, but hardly spend any of my playtime in the Computer chair. Mostly of my playtime is from the sofa with controller in hand.

I could dust off the steam controller and give it a go on this title..

Fallout 4

Fallout 4 I can see myself playing, but I have not felt the pull towards this game at all this year.

Mad Max

I actually started to play this and something happened to my save file that would have made me start again. I was not very far into the game, but the thought of having to do the stuff I had done again didn’t appeal to me.

Maybe I should give it another try, or look into the save file issue again.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun

I wanted this game so bad being a fan of the original Commandos games. It might have been a little more of nostalgia than actually wanting it, cause I have not even put an hour into this game. It could also be that this is a sit at the desk type game.

Lego Batman 3

Lego Batman 3 is the one game on the list I was able to finish. Trent and I have a few hundred hours into this game. How much of that is actual game play and how much is just walking away leaving it running, we will never really know. Its playing on the tv in my office right now as i write this and he left the room a while ago..

It’s worth noting that we did finish this game, but have since bought all the DLC and have about 6 more achievements to get on steam before 100% completion of this game.

We have a back log of 3 or 4 lego games we own, and also a few on my wish list for later. They really are some of the best games to play with kids. He picked up the controller and was playing pretty well at 3 years old.

New Family Member

I have not made a post about our newest family member, but did make some posts over on my GnuSocial Instance.

We have added Mr Lenny (Lenard if your being serious with him) to our family.

Lenny seems happy with his new home.

Lenny has taken to the house pretty good over all for a 7 month old. I think he has been here for just over a Month now… He still has a little more energy than I like in a cat (Older cats are more my speed).

Trent and Lenny get along pretty well over all. Other than the odd sneaky foot attack from under the bed when getting changed. Trent’s not a big fan of them, but now normally just tells Lenny he is “bad”. đŸ™‚

Lenny has managed to take over the Christmas Tree and claim it as his giant plastic prize. I have pretty much given up trying to keep him out of that thing. He hasn’t knocked it over, but gets all over inside it. Knocks all the decorations off and bats them around the house. I don’t think anything breakable is left on the tree at this point, it’s more just a pain to rebuild the tree..

Lenny took to the litter box with no issues, and seems to be a little pig of a eater. My First orange cat Linus was a big fan of eating. A lot of things about Garfield are truly orange cat traits.

Lenny has his own microblog over on my GnuSocial Instance.

Moving Blog and Round Up

How many blog posts in the blogosphere start with “Well its been a while since”, or “I have not posted in a while”, or something along the lines of not posting in a very long time. đŸ™‚ I will skip that and just jump into a post.

First up! I moved the blog from the main root domain to a sub domain of I have done this and moved it back a few times over the years. For now I am back to the idea of having the blog on its own subdomain. The root domain will be a splash type page to feed the other things I do. I have been active in using GNUSocial, think of it as a decentralized twitter you can host yourself. Most people use Mastodon and don’t host there own instances.. But I like to tinker, so using the FSF less popular GNUSocial was my cup of tea. Plus it has way less dependency’s than Mastodon and is still able to exchange with the other people in the “Fediverse“. If anyone cool would like a account drop me a line and I will hook you up. I have deleted or stopped using most all social networking sites that I do not host myself or control the content.

In other news Oct 17th 2018 Canada was the 2nd and largest country in the world thus far to legalize recreational cannabis. I am happy to say that the country is still standing and people are not stoned and passed out int he streets (any more than normal).. It’s an interesting roll (lol) out in Canada that each Province did its own thing.. Places like Quebec as far as I know do not allow people to grow there own at home. All Provinces but Ontario have physical stores, and Ontario only has online mail ordering. With all the differences it will be interesting to see which places change and move to other systems over time. Ontario is going to get physical stores in 6 months, but they will be privatized stores and not an offical OCS Store.

I think that’s it for now.. See if I can remember to check back here and post something more often now. But you can always check out my micro blogging at
